BALLOTING OF MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS:
All applications for membership shall be processed in accordance with the following procedures.
1. After the membership requirements are met, the president will notify the applicant to remain absent from the next meeting. The application will be read for membership just prior to voting.
2. Immediately following the reading, the president shall call for an open discussion of the applicants qualifications pertinent to gaining membership. Whereupon either of the sponsoring members shall arise and briefly state why they have recommended the applicant for membership.
3. The president shall then conduct the open forum at which time opinions shall be aired by any members who wish to do so.
4. When the forgoing steps have been taken, the president shall direct the sergeant-at-arms to pass ballots and collect completed ballots for registration by the secretary.
5. A percentage vote of yes by two-thirds of members present is required for acceptance.
6. If a vote of non-acceptance occurs the president will conduct an open forum to establish what actions could be taken to assist the applicant in achieving membership. The sponsors will then be directed to notify the applicant of these qualifications for reapplication.
7. The president shall following the certification of acceptance notify the applicant of their active membership status.
